Public Skating in Langley (Fall 2022 Ice Skating Schedules)

Below you will find that there are several ice rinks in Langley that are currently offering public skating. There are several rinks offering public skating in Langley over the fall, winter and spring. Typically a lot of the ice is removed in the late spring and summer to support lacrosse and ball hockey in the arenas.

Langley Public Skating George Preston Arena

Address: 20699 42nd Ave, Langley

George Preston arena is back with public skating. All ages and all skill levels. Children 12 and under are required to wear a helmet. No sticks or pucks allowed. Skate and helmet rentals are available at George Preston.

Saturdays 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm

Sundays 4:15 pm to 5:45 pm

*The website currently shows sessions for Oct 1st, Oct 2nd, Oct 23rd, Oct 29th, Nov 13th, Nov 20th, Nov 26th, Nov 27th, Dec 10th and Dec 18th so this may not be a weekly scheduled event. Check the Township of Langley website for more details.

Price: Adults $6.67 plus taxes, Children: $3.29 plus taxes, Senior: $5.00 plus tax, Youth: $4.19 plus tax

Advance online registration is recommended for all public skating sessions to secure your spot.  Registration for each session is available 23 hours in advance. On site in-person, drop-in admissions are now allowed but are based on session availability and as space permits in each limited capacity session. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you register for a drop-in session and do not attend or do not provide at least one (1) hour cancellation notice prior to the start time of the session, it will be considered a no-show visit.

George Preston Stick and Puck

Drop-in for this opportunity to practice your stick-handling skills on the ice! Participants 12 years old and under must wear a full cage CSA-approved helmet. Registration opens 23 hours prior to the start of a session. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you register for a drop-in session and do not attend or do not provide at least one (1) hour cancellation notice prior to the start time of the session, it will be considered a no-show visit.

Public Skating Sportsplex Langley

Public Drop in Skating Sportsplex Langley

 Langley Sportsplex has restarted its public ice skating in Langley. Skate times are Saturdays and Sundays 2:15 – 3:30. The price is $15 per family of up to 4 people or $5 per person. Children 3 years old and under are free. No sticks or pucks are allowed during public skating.

Parent and Tot Ice Skating and Hockey

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:45 – 11:45 AM

$6.00 for one parent and one tot. $3.00 per additional skater. The rink will be divided in half. 1 side for open skating & 1 side for tot hockey. The maximum tot age is 10 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Adult Drop in Hockey

Adult drop in Hockey at Sportplex occurs Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 12:00 – 1:30 PM. $9.00 per person. Goalies play for free. Call our front office starting at 9am the day of, for same day registration or book in advance. Maximum 20 skaters & 2 goalies. Must check in and sign waiver at front office. Public Skating Twin Rinks (Canlan Sports Arena)

Twin Rinks Langley Address: 5700 Langley By-Pass

Twin Rinks is run by Canlan Sports. Canlan has several arenas but just one in Langley. This fall they are not offering public skating but do have a stick and puck sessions. Stick and Puck is a casual way to practice the fundamentals of hockey, shooting, passing, and basic stickhandling. This program is intended for kids under 16 and/or families.  Full gear is mandatory for this program for youth under 12. Kids under 12 must be supervised by an adult. Scrimmages, private instruction and /or goalies are not permitted. Each session maxes out at 20 participants. No refunds/credits and non-transferable.

The schedule varies week to week so check directly with Twin Rinks for upcoming sessions.

Check out the options for ice skating in Surrey and ice skating in Abbotsford as well. Their schedules and locations may be convenient! Also posted online are ice skating rinks in Vancouver. From December to February, Robson Square in downtown also offers ice skating!
