Abbotsford Public Skating (Fall 2022 Ice Skating Schedules)

Below you will find that there are several ice rinks in Abbotsford that are currently offering public skating. One of the great things to do in the Fraser Valley in the fall is to grab your family and hit the rink. There are several rinks offering public skating in Abbotsford over the fall, winter and spring. Typically a lot of the ice is removed in the late spring and summer to support lacrosse and ball hockey in these Abbotsford arenas.

Abbotsford Recreation Centre (ARC Skating Rink)

Location: 2499 McMillan Road, Abbotsford

An open session for all ages to enjoy ice skating in Abbotsford. Children under 7 must have a guardian aged 16yrs or older closely supervising the skating. Helmets are mandatory for children under the age of 8 but it is strongly recommended that all participants wear helmets. Infants in strollers equipped with a 5-point harness are permitted on the ice provided the infant is wearing a helmet. For safety reasons, figure skating and hockey playing are not permitted during public skate sessions.

Skate Sharpening is available during public skate times. Skate rentals and helmets are available.

ARC Public Skating Schedule:

Saturdays 1:15 – 2:45 (Oct 1st to Dec 17th)

Sundays 6:30pm – 8:00pm (Oct 2nd to Dec 18th)

Mondays 2:45 – 4:15 TOONIE SKATE (Oct 3rd to Dec 12th)

Tuesdays 2:45 – 3:45 TOONIE SKATE (Oct 4th to Dec 20th)

Tuesdays 6:30pm – 8:00pm (Oct 4th to Dec 20th)

Thuesdays 6:30pm – 8:00pm (Oct 6th to Dec 15th)

Stick and Puck

An open session for all ages to practice hockey skills. Helmets, hockey gloves, long sleeves and long pants are mandatory for all participants. Full face masks are mandatory for participants under the age of 19yrs. Please come prepared and dressed for your session. Please bring a pre-filled, labelled water bottle. Goalies play for free.

Stick and Puck Abbotsford Schedule:

Sundays 1:45 – 3:15 (Oct 2nd to Dec 11th)

Wednesdays 2:45 to 4:15 (Oct 5th to Dec 14th)

Fridays 2:45 to 4:15 (Oct 7th to Dec 16th)

MRC Ice Skating Rink (Matsqui Recreation Centre)

Location: 3106 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford

An open session for all ages to enjoy ice skating in Abbotsford. Children under 7 must have a guardian aged 16yrs or older closely supervising the skating. Helmets are mandatory for children under the age of 8 but it is strongly recommended that all participants wear helmets. Infants in strollers equipped with a 5-point harness are permitted on the ice provided the infant is wearing a helmet. Public Skating Aldergrove Ice Arena

Location: 27032 Fraser Highway

Aldergrove Credit Union Ice Arena is back with public skating in the Fraser Valley. While not in Abbotsford it is nearby for a lot of residents. All ages and all skill levels. Children 12 and under are required to wear a helmet. No sticks or pucks allowed. Skate and helmet rentals are available.

Wednesdays 3:00 – 4:30 pm

Saturdays 4:30 – 6:00 pm

Price: Adults $6.67 plus taxes, Children: $3.29 plus taxes, Senior: $5.00 plus tax, Youth: $4.19 plus tax

Advance online registration is recommended for all public skating sessions to secure your spot.  Registration for each session is available 23 hours in advance. On site in-person, drop-in admissions are now allowed but are based on session availability and as space permits in each limited capacity session. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you register for a drop-in session and do not attend or do not provide at least one (1) hour cancellation notice prior to the start time of the session, it will be considered a no-show visit.

Aldergrove Ice Arena Stick and Puck

Drop-in for this opportunity to practice your stick-handling skills on the ice! Participants 12 years old and under must wear a full cage CSA-approved helmet. Registration opens 23 hours prior to the start of a session. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you register for a drop-in session and do not attend or do not provide at least one hour cancellation notice prior to the start time of the session, it will be considered a no-show visit.
