Maan Farms Sunflower Events: Picnic in the Petals Review

If you are seeing a unique place to grab food and drinks in the Fraser Valley, then this is the place to go in the next couple weeks.

Picnic in the Petals, located at Maan Farms in Abbotsford, was the unique date night I was looking for. I am always hunting for fun and different places to try out and Maan delivered in so many ways!

A quick check in at the cashier to show them the QR code on my phone, grab the buzzer for the food and we were off to explore the Farm. The store showcased all the good things Maan has to offer from Wine to Sauces to Berries and it was so hard not to walk away with one of everything. We then walked into the Adventure Barn area with the bag of feed and spent the next 15 minutes cooing over and hand feeding the baby goats. Yes – your ticket does include a bag of feed for the animals!

We picked up our food, we walked the 5 minutes up McKenzie then across Vye Road to the quaint little yellow door in the corn stalks. Don’t be alarmed if all you see is corn! Once through, you can see all the glorious yellows and pinks and oranges that the sunflowers have to offer

There was a choice of two types of tables – several open air ones where you could look up and see the beautiful blue skies and several with red umbrellas should you want shelter from the sunshine during the day or if it decides to rain in true Fraser Valley fashion!

We grabbed an umbrella table at the very back, set down our food, popped the music on my Spotify list to quies and spent the next hour and a half at our table laughing and enjoying the delicious foods Mama Maan had picked out for the boxes. The Tandoori Chicken was some of the best I ever had and the Indian twist on the Charcuterie box complimented the Tandoori box perfectly. We were able to taste traditional cheeses, meats and Maan berries along side a samosa and pakora.

After dinner we headed next to the door and walked through the Sunflower Maze where we could answer questions on the signs throughout, grab pictures by the photo op’s and climb the wooden tower to oversee the Sunflower field and Maan Farms. This spot is Instagram worthy on so many levels. Our reservation was for 6:30 so we were ascending those wooden stairs right as the sun was starting to set over the Farm. You could see the Sunflower Field, the Picnic Area, several of the rows of grapes, berry fields and the Corn Maze. We grabbed some great selfies and sunset photos before we climbed back down and finished the maze.

I’ll say this – Picnic in the Petals is only available the next couple weekends so I would get over to their website and book your reservation. As we walked away from the tables, we saw the other tables were full of young families, friends and couples enjoying their nights. So as much as this was my perfect date night, this experience is made for everyone. Every table we walked by had people talking and laughing and enjoying their evenings together.

Well done Maan Farms – we will be back for all of the things you have to offer in the next few months, like Abbotsford’s popular pumpkin patches!
